How are we relaxing during the holidays in 2021?
According to the production calendar approved by the Russian government, in 2021 there will be 26 official holidays in Russia:
- 8 days of New Year holidays from January 1 to January 8, 2021 inclusive. December 31, 2021 has also been declared an official holiday
- 4 days in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day from February 23 to 26, 2021
- 1 day on International Women's Day March 8
- 3 days on the first May holidays from April 29 to May 1
- 4 days in honor of Victory Day from May 6 to 9
- 3 days from June 10 to 12 in honor of Russia Day
- 3 days in November from 4 to 6 November
Holidays that coincide with weekends are postponed as follows:
- January 1 is moved to February 24
- January 7 is moved to May 8

Why do you need a production calendar?
Employees of HR departments and accounting departments cannot do without a production calendar. However, this document is also used by other employees of various companies and enterprises. So, to summarize, we can highlight why it is needed:
- Drawing up a work schedule. Using a production calendar allows you to take into account the number of weekends and working days in the month for which the schedule is being drawn up.
- Determination of the norm of working time for each period. The specifics of calculating this indicator will be discussed below.
- Calculation of wages, vacation and sick leave benefits. Based on the working time sheet at the end of the period, the ratio of actually worked time to planned time is determined. The resulting values help calculate the amount of monthly payments and bonuses.
- Vacation planning. Employees, having familiarized themselves with the production calendar, can choose the best time for vacation, determine the dates of short-term trips, and purchase tickets and vouchers in advance.

Work schedules provided for by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation
The classic work process model provides for a 5-day work week with 2 days off and a working day of 8 hours. Not all enterprises can work according to this scheme, so there are other work schedule options:
- Irregular working hours. For employees who stay at work after the end of the working day or come to work before it starts. The Labor Code of the Russian Federation strictly defines the list of positions for which this is permissible.
- Shift work. Introduced in enterprises that operate longer than the maximum permissible daily work duration.
- Flexible schedule. Provides the ability to select the start time, end time and duration of the working day. The main thing is to develop the required hours per month and year.
- Fragmented workday. A working day with a break breaking it up into parts. In total, it cannot exceed the duration of daily work permitted by the Labor Code.
Important! In work schedules other than the classic five-day workday, the summarized accounting method is used. In this case, it is not the weekly standard that is taken into account, but the monthly or even annual one. The duration of working hours for the period, on average, must be equal to the duration of the working day permitted by the Labor Code.

Annual challenge
To produce any type of product, including in completely different sectors of industry and production, and the agricultural sector, it is necessary to use the labor skills of the relevant personnel. From getting a kitchen stool to creating a jet plane, any product or product is still produced with human participation.
A group of specialists, a large team or an individual master in his sector of activity spend a certain amount of time on work. Therefore, when planning production processes and mutual cooperation with other companies and buyers of manufactured products, the manufacturer must calculate working hours in advance for each specialty involved in his enterprise. Ultimately, this affects the number of employees who can be hired by the organization.
In short, management, together with the human resources department and standard-setters, have to calculate the NIR every year.

Accounting for employee category
It is necessary to calculate the NIR taking into account the category of specialist and the specifics of the work. So, in some cases, staff working time should be cut. Despite the fact that other employees of this company who work the same schedule do not receive changes in their work routine.
For example:
- Article 92 of the Labor Code talks about the working time limit for employees with disabilities of the first two groups. They can be employed at the enterprise for a maximum of 35 hours per week;
- if there is work with hazards of the 3rd or 4th degree - no more than 36 working hours;
- Article 94 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation limits the working time of minor employees. Duration – no more than 7 hours a day. And if he is under 16 years old, then a maximum of 5 hours at work.
Each enterprise takes these points into account and takes into account the time spent on the work process as a whole.

Part-time work
By agreement between the employee and the employer, a part-time or part-time work week may be established both upon hiring and subsequently.
The employer is obliged to establish part-time work at the request of:
- Pregnant woman.
- One of the parents with a child under the age of 14 (a disabled child under the age of 18).
- A person caring for a sick family member.
When working part-time, the employee is paid in proportion to the time he worked or depending on the amount of work he performed.
Part-time work does not entail for employees any restrictions on the duration of annual basic paid leave, calculation of length of service and other labor rights.

Production calendar with a six-day work week
The law provides that some enterprises can establish a 6-day working week (Article 100 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). With this work schedule, the day off will be Sunday (Article 111 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). At the same time, the number of working hours on the eve of a day off cannot be more than 5 hours (Article 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). The limitation of 40 working hours with a 6-day working week remains (Article 91 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation), therefore in practice the following scheme for distributing the number of hours by day of the week is often used, in the order from Monday to Saturday: 7+7+7+7+7 +5=40.
